PROCUREMENT OFFICER

Ministry of Crab is a renowned, crab-centric restaurant dedicated to serving the finest seafood delicacies to our esteemed patrons. Founded by culinary maestros Chef Dharshan Munidasa and cricketers Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara, our restaurant has earned global acclaim for its delectable dishes and commitment to quality. As we continue to elevate the dining experience, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join our Procurement Team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to guarantee timely deliveries and resolve any supply issues efficiently.
- Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify new suppliers, negotiate contracts, and optimize procurement strategies.
- Coordinate with kitchen/restaurant staff to understand the restaurant requirements and ensure consistent supply chain.
- Manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking, minimizing waste and maximizing cost-efficiency.
- Oversee the procurement process from order placement to delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to track expenses, filing purchase orders, reconcile invoices, and maintain accurate procurement records.
- Taking proactive measures to prevent supply chain disruptions and minimize risks.
- Communicating regularly with suppliers regarding order status, delivery schedules, and any issues or concerns.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field or any other equivalent qualifications.
- Proven 05 years of experience as a procurement officer or similar role, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms and pricing from suppliers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to build and maintain effective vendor relationships
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and inventory management software.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards.
- Ability to work independently with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
The position follows a roster pattern to ensure coverage during critical business hours. Flexibility in working hours may be required based on business needs.
