GENERAL CASHIER
Taj Samudra Colombo, a renowned luxury hotel, is seeking highly skilled and motivated professionals to join our esteemed engineering team. We currently have openings for experienced General Cashier to contribute to the success and excellence of our facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and verify daily cash, cheques, credit card receipts from all outlets.
- Prepare daily bank deposits and ensure timely submission to the bank.
- Ensure proper balancing of the general cashier float and safe custody of cash.
- Reconcile cash receipts with system-generated reports and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain daily cash report and submit to the Finance department.
- Assist in preparation of petty cash disbursements and ensure proper documentation.
- Work closely with the accounts team to support month-end closing.
- Ensure all cash handling activities follow internal control policies and audit standards.
- Coordinate with Finance, office outlets, and finance team for timely reporting.
- Assist auditors with documentation and information during internal/external audits.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- 3–4 years of relevant experience in a hotel or hospitality as a general cashier.
- Strong knowledge of cash handling procedures and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Prologic, Opera).
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
