Nihonbashi Restaurant is one of Sri Lanka’s most famous Japanese Restaurants, recognized as one of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants from 2013 to 2018. Founded in 1995 by award-winning chef and restaurateur Dharshan Munidasa, Nihonbashi delivers genuine Japanese cuisine using fresh ingredients and traditional Japanese culinary philosophies.

As a Manager – Sales, Partnerships & Events at Nihonbashi (Pvt) Ltd, you will be responsible for driving new business to the new Nihonbashi Japanese restaurant at Port City Colombo, with 8 private dining rooms and an outdoor bar and event space that can cater to up to 300 guests.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Generate leads and opportunities by leveraging new and existing partners to drive engagement and increase revenue.
  • Identify and evaluate new revenue avenues such as corporate events, private dining, curated experiences, and collaborations.
  • Identify and engage with concierge services, corporates, high net worth individuals, private member clubs, business associations and other social organizations to promote events and preferential offers.
  • Tailor, design, and successfully implement events that drive revenue growth.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their event requirements, preferences and budget, and develop customized event proposals and packages that meet their needs and exceed their expectations.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Event Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in business development, banquet sales, or event management. You will have an added advantage if you have work experience in the banquet teams of any star-class hotel or event management company.
  • Proven track record of increasing sales and executing successful events, collaborations, and buyouts.
  • Strong network of contacts with event managers, inbound tour operators, and wedding planners.
