PROJECT ENGINEER – SOLAR PV
The Presales Engineer for the solar business will play a crucial role in supporting our sales team by providing technical expertise and solutions to potential customers. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in solar technology, system design, and customer engagement. The Presales Engineer will collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and project management teams to ensure customer requirements are met and ultimately facilitate the successful closure of sales.
JOB PROFILE
- Provide technical assistance to the sales team by answering product-related queries and delivering product demonstrations
- Conduct site surveys to assess customer needs and determine appropriate solar solutions
- Design solar energy systems based on customer specifications, utilizing modeling software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD)
- Prepare detailed technical proposals, including system layouts, performance estimations, and financial analysis (ROI, payback periods)
- Engage with potential customers to understand their energy requirements and sustainability goals
- Deliver presentations and conduct workshops to educate customers on solar technology and benefits
- Work closely with the sales team to translate customer needs into viable technical solutions
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure the feasibility of proposed solutions
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers
- Stay informed about industry developments, market trends, and competitive products to provide valuable insights to the sales and engineering teams
- Participate in events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote the company’s solar solutions
- Assist in developing and maintaining technical documentation, such as product specifications and installation guides
- Provide feedback to product development teams based on customer interactions and industry needs
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or related field)
- 3-5 years of experience in a presales engineering role or a similar position within the solar or renewable energy industry
- Demonstrated experience in solar system design, energy modeling, and technical sales support
- Strong understanding of solar photovoltaic technology, system components, Storage systems (Battery Energy), and installation processes
- Proficiency in solar design software (e.g., PVsyst, Aurora, Helioscope) and CAD tools
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Customer-oriented mindset with effective relationship-building capabilities
