Overview of the Job Responsibilities

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, ensuring sound financial management, compliance, and strategic financial planning. This role involves budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, risk management, and optimizing financial performance to support business growth and operational efficiency of the company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Establishing the best practices and managing the finance department in line with the local regulatory requirements.
  • Manage, review and ensure the company accounting controls are timely monitored, audited and computed accurately in accordance to the Sri Lanka Accounting Standards (SLAS) and archiving the documentation in accordance to internal compliances.
  • Ensuring all the statutory requirements are met in accordance to the local statutory compliance and liaising with auditors, tax consultants and company secretaries.
  • Responsible in preparation, reviewing of management reporting and ensuring its accuracy and comprehensiveness in accordance to the internal compliances.
  • Ensure the company maintains a healthy treasury & credit controlling system to carry out the company financial status without any risk.
  • Responsible for developing the financial planning and analysis to provide sound financial support, recommendation, and insights which enable to make critical business decisions.
  • Coordinating with the group office and regional offices.

Education Required and Experience Required:

  • Chartered Accountant from a recognised institution or,
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CIMA preferred).
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in the building materials, construction, or manufacturing industry preferred.

Competencies and Skills Required:

  • Experience in the building materials industry or a related sector is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management, reporting standards, and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in ERP and prior experience in ERP implementation would be an added advantage.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Work with multi-cultural employees.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to drive financial performance.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
