Key Responsibilities
The Freelance Structural Design Engineer will handle structural analysis and design for various building and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards. The role includes preparing detailed engineering drawings and specifications using AutoCAD, ETABS, STAAD Pro, or SAP2000. Collaboration with architects and project managers is key, as well as providing technical solutions for structural optimization. The engineer will also coordinate with on-site engineers in the UK, manage project timelines, and liaise with clients to provide progress updates and ensure project requirements are met.
Required Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will possess a BSc. (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of Moratuwa or an accredited institution, with an MSc in Structural Engineering being an added advantage. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to engage effectively with clients and collaborate with on-site engineers in the UK. Payment will be project-based, determined by the number of pages and the overall project scope.
