Zylan Colombo, a boutique hotel nestled in the heart of Colombo 07, is expanding our team! With two on-site dining venues—Zylan Cafe and Zen Japanese Restaurant—we’re seeking passionate, skilled individuals to join our growing family.
We're Hiring for the Following Positions:
01. Purchasing Assistant / Stores Assistant
Support daily procurement and inventory operations. Ensure stock levels are maintained cost-effectively while fostering strong vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor inventory levels and place timely orders.
- Source vendors, negotiate pricing, and track deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, invoices, and stock.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and issuing goods.
- Support front-end store operations as needed.
- Collaborate with departments to forecast supply needs.
Requirements
- Experience in purchasing/stores (hospitality background preferred; fresh graduates welcome).
- Familiarity with inventory/POS systems.
- Proficiency in Excel and record-keeping.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
02. Cost Controller / Accounts Assistant
Optimize financial efficiency and support F&B and front-office accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor inventory, minimize waste, and analyze cost variances.
- Verify daily sales reports, collections, and system data accuracy.
- Assist in budgeting, cost-saving initiatives, and vendor coordination.
- Conduct spot checks and uphold internal controls.
Requirements
- 3+ years in a similar role preferred (hospitality experience a plus).
- Fresh graduates with relevant skills may apply.
- Proficiency in Excel, POS, and inventory systems.
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
03. Waiter
Deliver exceptional dining experiences through attentive service and genuine hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and guide them through menus.
- Take orders accurately and collaborate with kitchen staff.
- Serve food/beverages promptly and address guest needs.
- Process payments and maintain a tidy dining area.
- Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Requirements
- Prior waiter experience preferred (passionate fresh graduates welcome).
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
- Friendly demeanor and flexibility for shifts/weekends.
- Basic POS knowledge is advantageous.
04. Housekeeping Staff
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare guest rooms (bed-making, dusting, sanitizing).
- Replenish amenities, linens, and towels.
- Maintain public areas (lobbies, restrooms, hallways).
- Report maintenance issues and handle guest requests.
- Follow safety protocols for cleaning products/equipment.
Requirements
- Experience in housekeeping preferred (training provided).
- Physical stamina for lifting, bending, and standing.
- Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
- Team player with reliability.
