We are a leading shipping agency based in Colombo 02, currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join our team.
ACCOUNTANT
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- CANDIDATES SHOULD HOLD A DEGREE IN ACCOUNTING OR POSSESS PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS SUCH AS AAT, CIMA, OR OTHER EQUIVALENT CERTIFICATIONS RELEVANT TO THE FIELD.
- FLUENCY IN ENGLISH (SPOKEN AND WRITTEN).
- COMPUTER LITERACY WITH STRONG SKILLS IN MS OFFICE, EXCEL, AND QUICKBOOKS.
- EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION AND PRESENTATION SKILLS.
- ATTENTION TO DETAIL, A STRONG SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY, AND TEAMWORK ABILITIES.

Responsibilities:
Office Related Work
- Day-to-day accounting.
- Handling bank accounts (payments, reconciliations, etc.).
- Corresponding with suppliers.
- Processing payments for office expenses and payroll.
- Verifying debtor accounts.
- Preparing MIS and other reports for management.
Shipping Related:
- Supplying Cash to Master (CTM) at port.
- Communicating with crewing and port agents.
- Preparing and settling port agents’ disbursement accounts (optional).
- Managing vessel bank accounts and reconciliations.
- Handling payments to global suppliers.
- Making online invoice payments.
- Verifying both debtor and creditor accounts.
