Zahira College, one of the prominent educational institutions in the country with a history of over 133 years, is looking for a passionate, dynamic and inspirational candidate with proven track record and relevant educational background with sufficient experience for the following position:
SECTIONAL HEAD (VOCATIONAL STREAM) – ADVANCED LEVEL
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day academic operations of the section, ensuring smooth and effective functioning.
- Ensure and maintain high standards of teaching and learning within the section.
- Monitor syllabus coverage and ensure lesson notes are prepared and maintained appropriately.
- Support the Vice Principal in implementing the ongoing education plan for the section.
- Assist the Vice Principal in preparing academic and administrative reports for management.
- Coordinate with Ministry of Education (MOE) officials regarding student enrollment and ensure timely follow-ups.
Qualifications & Experiences
- Candidate should be a graduate of a Recognized University in Sri Lanka or Overseas with supporting Degrees / Post Graduate Diplomas especially in Education be added advantage.
- Candidates must have successfully completed the GCE Ordinary Level & GCE Advanced Level.
- Minimum of five years of teaching experience, along with over five years of experience in a similar capacity.
- Prior experience in handling vocational studies at a recognized educational institution will be an added advantage.
- The ideal candidate should be mature and proactive with strong proficiency in English, Sinhala, and Tamil (both spoken and written).
- Must be computer literate and comfortable working with digital platforms.
