JOB SUMMARY / SCOPE
- Handle procurement of materials and services in an efficient and effective manner to ensure in-time and value-added support to the operations.
- Act as a single point of contact from receipt of approved requisition to release of PO.
- Handle and resolve post-PO release queries, discrepancies to ensure that material and services are delivered as per the terms and conditions defined in the PO.
- Maintain healthy and positive relationships with both existing and new vendors to ensure value-added products and services are introduced.
- Ensure effective utilization of ERP system to ensure availability of accurate database for MIS.
- Process purchase orders and ensure its release to vendors on the same day as final approval.
- Ensure implementation and compliance of Company rules, processes and policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conversion of requisition to Purchase Order in value added manner within defined time frame.
- Create quality purchase order to ensure least post-release queries and cost escalations.
- Develop sound understanding of various materials and services used in upstream Oil & Gas operations to source them from qualified and appropriate sources and / or Power Industry (Substation & OHL) related to Infrastructure and Oil & Gas Projects to source them from qualified and appropriate sources.
- Negotiate the best price and terms for the procurement of materials and services.
- Resolve all and any queries post-PO release in tandem with Logistics Officer.
- Own and resolve material supply discrepancies arising of purchase orders in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
- Include HSE as integral part of all procurement decision making e.g. procure HSE compliant lifting and PPE material.
- Report immediately all hazards, incidents or accidents observed to HSE representative regardless of whether anybody is harmed, or equipment is damaged.
- Use empowerment to stop working for yourself or others if there is immediate risk to health, environment & safety.
- Ensure to maintain validity of your mandatory HSE related training. Raise alert and attend courses as directed by HSE team before expiry date.
- Always take care of yourself, colleagues and others whilst at work.
- Follow all company policies and procedures advised from time to time.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Sound understanding of Supply Chain functions (Sourcing & Procurement, Logistics, Warehousing) and their impact on the cost of sales for the Company.
- Diploma / Bachelor from any technical stream with overall experience of at least 5 years in Procurement activities related to the Upstream Oil & Gas operations & / or Power Industry (Substation & OHL).
- Understanding of “pinch points” in Supply Chain functions and effective ways to overcome them.
- Sound analytical, logical and result driven thinking skills.
- Sound negotiation and communications skills – both written and oral, must be self correspondent.
- Ability to provide value added options aimed at cost & time saving.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote work environment from Sri Lanka.
- Must be willing to work on Oman shift (09.30 a.m. - 06.30 p.m. | Sunday - Thursday).
