Job Description
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for Pre-contract duties such as the preparation of Bill of quantities, quantity takeoffs/measurements to various stages of documents from concept design, the issue for construction stages, value engineering, cost plan, variation, identifying any conflicts, raise relevant queries, coordination on the design, etc. and all relevant scopes/duties during the pre-contract stage.
Duties and Responsibilities
- All Pre-Contract Quantity Surveying duties for assigned projects must be completed.
- Providing bill of quantities, value engineering, and cost management for assigned initiatives as required.
- Evaluate specifications and drawings and submit queries.
- Assist the senior quantity surveyors in assessing the quality, level of coordination, and completeness of the documents (Bill of Quantities and general conditions of contracts) for tender documents.
- Collaboration with subordinate quantity surveyors.
- Facilitate the coordination of pertinent members to ensure the appropriate solutions of Quantity Surveying issues.
Experience and Skills
- Minimum 4 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in roles specialized in Pre-Contracts (Gulf experience will be an added advantage but not mandatory).
- Proven experience in preparing cost plans and BOQ’s using standard methods of measurements (NRM1, NRM2, POMI, CESMM, SMM7).
- Proficient in relevant software applications, including measurements & quantification (CostX is Preferred).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Auto CAD, Revit, and other related software.
- Strong knowledge of pre-contracts, cost planning, and estimation.
- Ability to prepare reinforcement schedules from the drawings.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Confident & strong personality.
Education
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
