MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Position Overview:
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment used in the factory. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth and efficient machine operations to minimize downtime and support production targets. This role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance skills, strong troubleshooting ability, and a commitment to maintaining factory equipment in optimal condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on factory machinery and production equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and minor electronic faults and repair machinery to minimize downtime
- Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and ensure quick and effective repairs
- Assist in installing new machinery and equipment as required
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and machine service histories
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with company safety and quality standards
- Recommend improvements to equipment operation and maintenance processes
- Coordinate with the Maintenance team to schedule maintenance without disrupting operations
- Support the Maintenance Manager in major repair or installation projects
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in all maintenance areas
Candidate Profile:
- NVQ Level 3/4 or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance
- Minimum of 2 years' hands-on experience in machinery maintenance in a factory or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, motor controls, basic electrical circuits, and industrial tools
- Ability to read and understand machine manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Physically fit and able to work extended hours when necessary
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance work
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Commitment to workplace safety standards and procedures
