Assistant Monitoring & Evaluation Officer (Global Fund Project)

Under the supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer of FPA Sri Lanka (GFATM Grant), the Assistant Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will support project M & E activities as follow.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with SSRs to ensure implementation of project M&E system
  • Conduct regular field visits to validate project monitoring data and provide timely feedback
  • Support to conduct capacity building programmes for SSR, SR staff and outreach staff on project monitoring and evaluation
  • Support M&E officer to conduct district and national level progress review meetings
  • Contribute to project progress reporting
  • Prepare reports such as field visit and periodic M & E reports

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in public health, social sciences, management, economics, development studies or science from a recognized university or A minimum of 3 years of experience in the private, state or NGO sector in a similar capacity with secondary education is required.
  • Work experience in HIV/AIDS related project will be an added advantage
  • Computer literacy in MS Office package
  • Experience in monitoring development projects implemented through or by community-based organizations

Person Specifications

  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Language proficiency in oral and written English.
  • Willingness to participate in regular field visits to remote areas
  • Positive attitude, willing to work with diverse community groups

Remuneration

  • Negotiable

Contract term

  • One-year contract with an initial three-month probation period.

Work station

  • Based in Colombo with frequent travelling to the project sites situated out of Colombo.
