Assistant Manager - Finance

Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka

Key Responsibilities:

  • Month-End Accounts Preparation: Handle the preparation of month-end financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Financial Reviews: Conduct detailed reviews of Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets, ensuring adherence to group reporting deadlines.
  • Reporting and Insights: Prepare management information reports and provide timely responses to information requests from stakeholders.
  • Ledger Maintenance: Perform core accounting transactions in general and sub-ledgers, including collecting, recording, and verifying financial data.
  • Reconciliations: Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Audit Management: Oversee both internal and external annual audits.
  • Taxation: Handle annual tax returns and related matters, working closely with tax consultants.
  • Compliance and Controls: Ensure adherence to internal controls, group policies, and the financial control framework.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Interact effectively with global business stakeholders to support organizational goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and support process improvement initiatives.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance and/or full or final stage qualification in CIMA/ACCA.
  • Minimum of 4–5 years of accounting experience in similar roles.
  • Proven expertise in processing accounting transactions and consolidations to ensure accurate general ledger balances, month-end closing processes, and financial control processes, including reconciliations and substantiations.
  • Hands-on experience in ERP systems (advantageous).
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Strong communication skills in oral and written English.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams, adapt to change, and meet business priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience in designing robust reporting frameworks.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with global colleagues in multicultural environments.
