Accounts Assistant
Responsibilities:
- Assist in recording daily financial transactions and maintaining accurate ledgers.
- Support the preparation of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
- Help process invoices, manage payments, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Assist in preparing and monitoring company budgets.
- Ensure financial transactions comply with relevant legal, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Support tax-related activities including preparation of documentation for tax filings.
- Assist in analyzing cost data and preparing basic cost reports.
- Help with variance analysis between budgeted and actual financial results.
- Participate in the implementation and usage of accounting software and ERP systems.
- Assist in reconciling intercompany accounts and maintaining related records.
- Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
- Help coordinate with the Company Secretary regarding financial information for regulatory filings and annual returns.
- Support treasury functions by assisting with fund management and account reconciliations.
- Maintain organized financial records and assist in improving internal control processes.
- Prepare basic financial reports and presentations for management review.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or HND in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management.
- Part-qualified in AAT, CIMA, ACCA, or CA Sri Lanka (preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office tools.
- Familiar with accounting software/ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
- Basic knowledge of financial statements and ledgers.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
