Accounts Assistant

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in recording daily financial transactions and maintaining accurate ledgers.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
  • Help process invoices, manage payments, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Assist in preparing and monitoring company budgets.
  • Ensure financial transactions comply with relevant legal, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support tax-related activities including preparation of documentation for tax filings.
  • Assist in analyzing cost data and preparing basic cost reports.
  • Help with variance analysis between budgeted and actual financial results.
  • Participate in the implementation and usage of accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Assist in reconciling intercompany accounts and maintaining related records.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
  • Help coordinate with the Company Secretary regarding financial information for regulatory filings and annual returns.
  • Support treasury functions by assisting with fund management and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain organized financial records and assist in improving internal control processes.
  • Prepare basic financial reports and presentations for management review.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or HND in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management.
  • Part-qualified in AAT, CIMA, ACCA, or CA Sri Lanka (preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office tools.
  • Familiar with accounting software/ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
  • Basic knowledge of financial statements and ledgers.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
