The Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Housekeeping Manager to lead our housekeeping team at a beautiful 56-room beach resort in Sri Lanka. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction, ensuring an exceptional guest experience in all areas of the resort.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Management:
- Supervise, train, and motivate the housekeeping team, including room attendants, laundry staff, and public area cleaners.
- Schedule and allocate tasks to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Operational Oversight:
- Ensure all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards.
- Develop and implement housekeeping procedures, checklists, and quality control measures.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage procurement of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities.
- Respond promptly to guest requests, complaints, and feedback related to housekeeping services.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Budget Management:
- Monitor housekeeping expenses and ensure operations stay within the allocated budget.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Implement and monitor proper waste disposal and recycling practices.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry trends and implement best practices.
- Propose and execute initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and guest experience.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience as a Housekeeping Manager or in a similar leadership role in a hospitality setting, preferably in a resort or hotel.
- Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, including cleaning techniques, equipment, and products.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and housekeeping management systems.
- Fluency in English & Sinhala or Tamil.
