SHIFT EXECUTIVE

Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS), manufacturer of Elephant House Soft Drinks and Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC.

The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Shift Executive. The position exists to Assist in process control including labor handling and coordinating with Engineering and Quality control for the smooth operation of the shift production process. Assist in managing the Ice Cream production planning & shift administration within statutory /legal/ISO Standards and organizational guidelines with the objective of smooth operation of the production process of the shift.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assist to plan daily production according to the monthly plan; Coordinate daily material requirements with stores; coordinate plant changeovers with engineering department in order for smooth production operations.
  • Assist in labour administration and allocation; Maintenance of hygienic conditions (Plant CIP & sterilization, personnel hygiene, pest control) in the plant in order to ensure required standards are met.
  • Maintaining the documents of Quality Management System and Food Safety Management System.
  • Preparing production statements and documents on labour administration in order to ensure that documentation is up to date and relevant.
  • Coordinating with engineering staff on plant and machinery maintenance.
  • Monitors operation of plant equipment and systems.
  • Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solving problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs in order to ensure plant maintenance.
  • Sampling and recipe calculation; Handling rework and returns; handling fresh milk; Employee education and training in order to maintain quality standards & waste reduction.

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • General degree in Food Science or Engineering/ NDT or equivalent from a recognized University. Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in an F & B manufacturing environment.
  • Consumer Food manufacturing processes, world trends including Quality parameters & Standards.
  • Knowledge in Dairy science and Ice cream manufacturing processes, world trends in Ice Cream manufacturing industry, Quality Systems, Process Management, Production Planning.
  • Leadership, interpersonal skills, problem solving, negotiating skills, decision making & problem solving.
