Aviation Operations Duty Officer – Contractor Position
Konnect BPO is recruiting an Aviation Operations Duty Officer to work for their aviation client based in the UK. The role is shift based, working 12-hour shifts located in Colombo in Sri Lanka. The successful person will play a key part in the clients’ aviation duty operations team and help deliver a range of services to tour operator and airline customers.

Purpose:
Manage the day-to-day operational activities
Reporting to:
Aviation Operations Management
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and managing the flight programme
- Dealing with flight disruption
- Liaising with airlines, airports and handling agents
- Pre-flight data processing
- Programme checks and updates
- Liaison and communications with clients regarding operational matters
- Various other tasks supporting the Aviation Operations Management & the business
- Any other tasks as required by the client
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years airline/airport operations experience
- Handling of aircraft delays and diversions (on the ground or remotely)
- Experience of dealing with PNL’s and ADL’s desirable
- Experience in Eurocontrol NOP systems desirable
- Tour Operations experience desirable
- Working under own initiative without supervision under pressure
- Good ability in MS Word, Excel and databases

- Calm, focused, trustworthy and able to work under pressure
- Organised and able to work to procedures and problem solve
- Self-motivated and able to work with high degree of autonomy
- Friendly personality and able to work alone or as part of small team
- Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Excellent level of written and spoken English

Salary:
- The role is a self-employed contractor position with Konnect BPO
- Contractor fee of LKR150,000 per month with Withholding Tax [WHT] deduction at 5%
- All other taxes are the contractor’s responsibility to ensure Sri Lankan tax laws are met
- Contractor must provide their own way of getting to and from work which may be during unsocial hours
