Job Description
Job Duties and Responsibilities;
- Lead the initial ideation and development of new product concepts, including the preparation of technical specifications.
- Supervise and conduct peer reviews of cash flow models required for premium rate calculations in compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
- Oversee the derivation of long-term pricing assumptions based on SLICLL-specific experience and economic data.
- Lead the calculation of premium rates, rebates, and surrender value factors to ensure financial viability.
- Prepare actuarial pricing certificates, including sensitivity testing results, to support product approval and compliance.
- Coordinate the review of cash flow projection models and pricing certificates with the external appointed actuary.
- Lead financial evaluation of new incentive schemes and changes to existing schemes of personal lines and bancassurance sales channels.
- Contributing to the corporate plan in terms of international new product benchmarking, and devising the new product strategy.
- Continuously monitoring the profitability of products open for new business, and advising the sales function and management of SLICLL on corrective action, when necessary.
Qualifications & Prerequisites;
- Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Physics, Chemistry, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Decision Science, Engineering, Computer Science or similar discipline.
- Master's degree in Actuarial Science or completion of at least four subjects in a professional qualification framework of an internationally recognized Actuarial Professional Body.
- Minimum of 03 years' experience in the capacity of an Assistant Manager or above.
- Age preferably below 40 years.
