McLarens Group is now seeking an aspiring, energetic, and competent individual to join its subsidiary company, Spectra Logistics (Pvt) Limited. Spectra is one of Sri Lanka’s leading providers of end-to-end logistics services encompassing contract logistics, container depot, integrated transportation, and customs brokerage. We meet our customers’ logistics and supply chain needs through a combination of our operational and service excellence and our extensive resources, which include the Spectra Distribution Center at the Spectra Logistics Park in Wattala and a well-equipped container yard with our own vehicle fleet.

Assistant Manager – Business Development

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new sales leads while nurturing existing client relationships.
  • Build strong customer rapport through excellent service and regular engagement.
  • Prepare quotations and customized solutions in collaboration with the HOD.
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline with active follow-ups on prospects.
  • Support customer retention and growth through BTL marketing initiatives.
  • Schedule and attend client meetings aligned with performance targets.
  • Conduct market research to uncover new opportunities and customer segments.
  • Represent the company at industry events and share insights internally.
  • Collaborate with the HOD on new service offerings and sales strategies.
  • Assist in the sales cycle by tracking account activity and supporting deal closures.
  • Coordinate with credit control to ensure timely collections.
  • Clearly communicate client needs and pitch tailored logistics solutions.
  • Maintain daily records of calls and client visits for transparency.
  • Review and update the sales pipeline weekly to monitor progress.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Degree or Diploma in Logistics, or professional qualification in SLIM/CIM.
  • Minimum 5 years of overall experience, with at least 3 years in the logistics sector.
  • Exposure to 3PL operations is essential; warehouse experience will be an added advantage.
  • Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel.
