System/ Database Administrator
American Premium Water, the pioneer in Sri Lanka's bottled water industry & a market leader in the FMCG sector in Sri Lanka with a staff strength of over 1200, with an extended reach across Logistics & SCM, Construction, Polymer Packaging sectors within Sri Lanka as well as other Asian markets, is looking for a System/ Database Administrator for immediate employment. The ideal candidate should be dynamic, highly motivated, and results oriented.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain database systems, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database issues to ensure smooth data flow.
- Implement access controls, backups, and disaster recovery plans.
- Document data standards, procedures, and definitions.
- Collaborate with teams to support application database needs.
- Recommend and implement improvements for database efficiency.
- Assist users with data-related issues and best practices.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as backups and replication.
- Ensure timely completion of the month-end invoicing cycle.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in database administration or in a similar role.
- Experience in database backup, disaster recovery planning, performance optimization and data security.
- Knowledge of database management systems such as MySQL/ MS SQL.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to provide quick solutions to issues.
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills to work in a team environment.
