VACANCY – COMMUNICATIONS & SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

Transparency International Sri Lanka (TISL), is the national chapter of Transparency International (TI), the global movement against corruption. TISL raises awareness on the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business, civil society and the public at large to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.

TISL is seeking a Communications & Social Media Manager to lead communications initiatives of TISL, direct and implement the day-to-day communications needs of the organization, manage and disseminate content on the organization's social media platforms, effectively deploy internal and external communication material and contribute to and implement the organization's communications strategy. The ideal candidate will use digital and traditional communications tools to enhance and expand the organization's position and effectiveness as a leading expert on anti-corruption and governance issues.

Scope of Work:

  • Develop and implement a strategic, innovative, and high-impact communication strategy for TISL.
  • Maintain strong, consistent communications with all stakeholders across public, private, and civil society sectors.
  • Ensure all external communications reflect TISL’s standards of accuracy, professionalism, and visual appeal.
  • Create compelling online and offline content to achieve organizational communication and advocacy objectives.
  • Lead and grow TISL’s social media presence to strengthen brand visibility and public engagement.
  • Support program teams by embedding tailored communication strategies that amplify project impact.
  • Track, analyze, and report on the reach and effectiveness of campaigns and events to inform future planning.
  • Guide the ongoing development and management of the TISL website and digital platforms.
  • Oversee and develop communication skills of TISL staff by setting goals, providing mentorship, and building a learning-focused, performance-driven team culture.
  • Contribute to TISL’s sustainability by leading communications for revenue-generating initiatives such as membership drives, corporate training promotions, and citizen outreach campaigns.

A suitable candidate would ideally have:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a managerial communications role in the corporate, public, or civil society sectors. Knowledge of anti-corruption and governance issues is an added advantage.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, PR & Advertising, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills in English, with proficiency in Sinhala. Proficiency in Tamil is an added advantage.
  • Proven experience managing social media platforms, engaging media outlets, and building journalist relationships.
  • Strong creativity and content creation skills, with a keen eye for impactful storytelling.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a proactive and collaborative working style.
