Competencies
- Bachelor of Agriculture Science from a recognized University
- Exceptional knowledge of sustainable agriculture practices / technologies
- Good knowledge on soil health management, Integrated Nutrient management, Integrated Pest Management would be an added advantage
- Experience in sustainable agriculture-related areas, organic certifications would be an added advantage
- Excellent interpersonal skills to develop professional relationships with farmers and all other stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills with proficiency in both Sinhala / Tamil & English languages
- Ability to work independently as part of a team and leads the team to achieve designated targets / objectives
Scope & Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of sustainable agriculture projects
- Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to promote and achieve sales targets of Sustainable agriculture products
- Provide technical support and advice to farmers on the use of sustainable agriculture products / technologies / practices
- Conduct seminars and training sessions for farmers to educate them on correct use of sustainable agriculture practices / Technologies / Products and role of sustainable practices in agriculture
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities
- Collaborate with government research stations / Universities to test new products / technologies
- Collaborate with government research stations / Universities to identify their new developments / research findings
