Pastry & Bakery Commis I / II (Male/Female)
Location: The Bellwood Manor, Nuwara Eliya
The Bellwood Manor is an exquisite 8-room luxury boutique hotel located in the heart of Nuwara Eliya, offering a refined, personalized hospitality experience. Known for its elegant ambiance, exceptional service, and fine dining, it is a sought-after retreat for discerning guests. We are seeking skilled and passionate Commis I & Commis II to join our culinary team – individuals with a natural flair for preparing pastries, breads, and desserts, and a genuine passion for hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake high-quality pastries, breads, and desserts
- Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic work environment
- Monitor ingredient stock and assist with inventory management
- Support the development of new and seasonal recipes
Requirements:
- 1–2 years of experience in pastry and bakery operations (hotel or bakery preferred)
- Preferably with Hotel School or NVQ Level 3 qualifications
- Creativity and strong attention to detail in presentation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
