IMMEDIATE VACANCIES IN CDEM HOSPITAL

Stores Keeper (Head Office)
Job Role
- Maintain accurate stock records for laboratory, surgical items, disposables, and medical equipment.
- Monitor daily usage and ensure optimal stock levels to avoid understocking or overstocking.
- Use First-Expiry-First-Out (FEFO) and First-In-First-Out (FIFO) inventory principles.
- Receive and inspect goods from vendors against purchase orders.
- Check for damage, expiry dates, and quality compliance.
- Coordinate with procurement for discrepancies and replacements.
- Label, shelve, and organize items in a systematic and accessible manner.
- Issue materials to pharmacy and other departments based on authorized requisitions.
- Maintain manual and/or digital records of all stock transactions.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly inventory and consumption reports.
- Participate in regular internal audits and physical stock verifications.
- Comply with hospital SOPs and infection control protocols.
- Ensure cleanliness, security, and fire safety of the storeroom.
- Liaise with purchasing, nursing, pharmacy, lab, finance, and administration departments.
- Assist in planning annual procurement needs based on consumption trends.
Requirements
- G.C.E. O/L with credit passes in Mathematics and English (A/L preferred).
- Certification in Storekeeping, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management (NVQ Level 3–4 or equivalent) is advantageous.
- 1–2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and basic inventory software (e.g., MedSys, QuickBooks, or ERP systems).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Residing in close proximity to the Colombo area will be preferred.
Procurement Assistant (Head Office)
Job Role
- Process purchase requests from clinical and non-clinical departments.
- Source and obtain quotations from approved local and international suppliers for medical equipment, consumables, and pharmaceuticals.
- Ensure all purchases comply with hospital policies, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., Ministry of Health, NMRA).
- Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and coordinate deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods.
- Liaise with customs agents and suppliers for the clearance of imported goods where applicable.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records including quotations, POs, invoices, and delivery notes.
- Monitor stock levels in coordination with the stores/pharmacy to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
- Evaluate supplier performance (pricing, quality, and delivery timelines) and maintain good vendor relationships.
- Coordinate with the finance team for invoice verification and payment processing.
- Assist with audits and procurement reporting as required by hospital management or regulatory authorities.
Requirements
- G.C.E. A/L qualification with a diploma or certificate in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration.
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or Degree in a relevant field is an advantage.
- 1–2 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role.
- Familiarity with medical procurement processes, tender procedures, and vendor registration with NMRA.
- Understanding of government and private sector procurement regulations and documentation standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple procurement requests effectively.
- Residing in close proximity to the Colombo area will be preferred.
