LEGAL OFFICER

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Draft and review legal contracts and agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide legal advice to management on business matters.
  • Handle legal risks and update stakeholders on relevant laws.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external counsel on legal issues.
  • Review court-related documents before submission.
  • Update company policies in line with legal standards.
  • Advise on third-party agreements and ensure legal awareness across the organization.

Candidate Profile

  • Attorney-at-Law in Sri Lanka and Notary Public License.
  • Commissioner of Oaths would be an added advantage.
  • Age should be less than 50 years.
  • Minimum 05 years’ experience in handling legal related work, preferably experience in the insurance/finance/banking industry.
  • Should possess an excellent command of English, both oral & written.
  • Knowledge on applicable laws and regulations related to financial institutions contractual obligations and contract draft.
  • Review and negotiations skills.
  • Knowledge on title search, knowledge in coordinating and handling litigation.
  • Decision making skills where identify root causes of the problem and able to generate logical alternatives and resolves problems.
