Factory Manager (Concord Manufacturing (Private) Limited, Thambuttegama)
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily factory operations to ensure smooth workflow, optimal productivity, and on-time delivery.
- Plan and coordinate production schedules based on buyer requirements and factory capacity.
- Ensure strict compliance with quality standards, safety protocols, and labor regulations.
- Monitor KPIs related to efficiency, quality, cost control, and capacity utilization.
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams including production, quality, maintenance, and HR.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement lean manufacturing principles.
- Coordinate with merchandising and planning teams for effective order execution.
- Ensure machinery and equipment are maintained in top condition through preventive maintenance schedules.
- Drive a culture of accountability, discipline, and continuous improvement on the production floor.
- Maintain accurate reporting systems and provide regular updates to senior management.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 10 years of experience in garment manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- A Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Apparel Production, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of garment production processes (knit/woven), quality standards, and compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to manage large teams and factory operations in a structured and efficient manner.
- Solid understanding of production planning, cost control, and operational KPIs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and production management tools.
- Age between 35 and 50 years is preferred.
- Fluency in English and Sinhala (spoken and written).
