Assistant Food & Beverage Manager - Queen’s Hotel, Kandy

We are looking for a motivated individual to assist in managing food and beverage operations, support the development of menus and promotions, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, monitor inventory levels, provide training to staff, and help maintain exceptional service standards in collaboration with the Food Beverage Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of food and beverage staff, ensuring proper service standards and training.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food and beverage supplies, assist in ordering, and manage stock to minimize waste.
  • Ensure that food and beverage products meet quality standards and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Address guest inquiries and complaints promptly, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in preparing budgets for the food and beverage department, tracking expenses, and analyzing financial performance.
  • Collaborate with chefs and other management to develop and update menus, taking into consideration seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
  • Help plan and execute special events or banquets, coordinating with different departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Facilitate training sessions for new staff members and ongoing training for existing staff to enhance service skills.
  • Ensure that all food safety regulations are followed, including proper sanitation practices and employee hygiene.
  • Prepare reports on sales, inventory, staff performance, and customer feedback to assist in decision-making processes.

Candidates should possess:

  • Minimum of 5 years in food and beverage with at least 2 years in a managerial role in a star class hotel.
  • Extensive experience in All Inclusive hotel environment.
  • Graduate of the Hotel School (SLITHM) or any other equivalent qualification.
  • Proven leadership abilities with the capacity to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and supplier relationships.
  • Excellent PR & outgoing personality.
