Assistant Accountant (Female)
Location: Colombo -12
Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Company: Reputed Lighting product importers and distributors
Salary: LKR 100,000 – 120,000 (based on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to support our finance operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, experience in commercial operations, and a hands-on approach to day-to-day finance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable/receivable and daily accounting operations
- Handle statutory payments (VAT, SSCL, tax computations)
- Prepare financial statements and management reports
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and payroll processing
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve financial discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with standards
- Assist with other finance tasks as required by management
Requirements
- Part-qualified in ICASL, CMA, ACCA, or CIMA (or a strong academic background in Finance)
- 2–3 years of experience in a similar role within commercial operations (mandatory)
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
- Strong MS Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Female candidates below the age of 35 preferred
