SYSTEM ENGINEER
Responsibilities
- Support Microsoft servers, MS SQL, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Group Policy, backups, Hyper-V, and VMware.
- Architect, implement, and maintain domain controllers, physical/virtual servers, and storage solutions.
- Design and troubleshoot complex Windows, AD, Hyper-V, and VMware environments.
- Administer on-prem and cloud infrastructure, including VMware cloud solutions.
- Lead systems and infrastructure projects, including virtualization with Hyper-V.
- Provide 24×7 on-call support as part of a team rotation.
- Develop network architecture and system infrastructure.
- Monitor systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot inefficiencies and errors across the infrastructure.
- Oversee IT operations and supervise technical staff.
- Collaborate with managers to assess and meet system requirements.
- Train and mentor new Systems Engineers.
Qualifications
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject.
- Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux based environments.
- 3+ years’ work experience in the System Engineer Role.
- Expert knowledge in active directory (Windows 2012 through Windows 2022), DNS, OU design and management, AD Site design, Group Policy, AD security, AD certificate services, LDAP, Global Catalog, WINS, DHCP, DFS, FRS, AD troubleshooting, and AD.
- Expert knowledge in virtualization technologies.
- Desired skills include active directory, DNS, networking, CIFS, automated patching procedures, MS SCOM, SCCM, storage solutions, and active directory with experience in managing AD, DHCP, Hyper-V and VMware.
