Accounting Team Lead
About the Role
As Accounting Team Lead, you’ll oversee client delivery for Australian businesses, managing daily accounting tasks, reviewing junior staff output, and ensuring accurate, on-time results.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of junior accountants & review their work
- Manage full-service accounting for Australian clients (bookkeeping, AP/AR, payroll, GST, month-end close, reporting)
- Identify & resolve accounting issues with timely corrections
- Improve processes, templates & internal systems
- Handle client communication & manage expectations
- Support leadership in quality control, client onboarding & team development
- Provide KPI analysis, financial insights & ad hoc reports
Requirements
- 3–5 years Australian accounting experience
- A Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Fully or part-qualified in CA, CIMA, CMA, ACCA or AAT
- Strong technical accounting & compliance knowledge
- Excellent analytical & numerical skills
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Team Leadership skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Proactive and detail-oriented mindset
