HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANCE

Nyne Hotels is a pioneering operator of unique luxury boutique hotels and villas in Sri Lanka. We are looking for enthusiastic, hardworking, and creative young individuals to join our Head Office as a Human Resources Assistant. We welcome applications from experienced young candidates who are team players, reside in or around Colombo, and are willing to work long hours.

In this role, you will be based at our Head Office in Colombo 7 and will handle various personnel-related administrative duties. You will serve as a liaison between the HR manager and employees, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of any queries. Familiarity with the hotel industry is an advantage.

Additionally, you should be capable of working independently and assisting with more complex HR responsibilities, such as posting job advertisements, coordinating job interviews, and contacting candidates. Ultimately, your objective will be to ensure that our HR department is organized and effectively attracts, hires, and retains our employees.

Job Requirements:

  • Foundation Certificate Course / Diploma Certification in HRM OR
  • 2-3 years’ experience as an HR Assistant in the Hotel Trade
  • PC literacy (MS Office, in particular)
  • Basic knowledge of labor laws of Sri Lanka
  • Excellent organizational skills & Strong communications skills
  • Good knowledge of English & Sinhala (spoken and written)
  • Self-motivated, hardworking and having desire to learn
  • Ability to work in team and provide support to team members
  • Deadline-oriented and punctual
  • Has an eye for detail and willing to work extra (late) hours

HR Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties
  • Update Attendance and Leave Records
  • Providing clerical and administrative support to Human Resources Manager
  • Compiling and update employee records (hard and soft copies)
  • Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc.)
  • Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
  • Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, leaves, etc.)
  • Communicate with public services when necessary
  • Completing and submitting EPF/ETF forms to Labour Department and carry out any other related work with the Labour Department
  • Communicate with candidates and schedule interviews
  • Conduct initial orientation to newly hired employees
