We’re Hiring: Technical Designer (3+ Years Experience)

Location: Kandy/Colombo, Sri Lanka

  • Work directly with U.S.-based clients
  • Full-time | Fashion/Apparel Industry

We are seeking a skilled and detail-driven Technical Designer with at least 3 years of experience to join our growing team in Kandy or Colombo, Sri Lanka. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with U.S. clients on a wide range of apparel categories, ensuring excellent fit, construction, and consistency from development through production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct fittings from proto samples to TOPs; make accurate pattern corrections
  • Prepare and manage graded spec sheets for Missy, Petite, Woman, Junior, and Maternity categories
  • Take detailed fitting notes with photographs; communicate fit comments clearly to vendors
  • Work on Fully Fashion Sweaters, Cut & Sew Knits, and Woven garments
  • Coordinate daily with factories for fit corrections and sample tracking
  • Fit garments across Junior, Missy, and Kids sizes
  • Maintain a library of proto bodies, on-order styles, and technical packages
  • Build and manage a block library for ongoing/core styles
  • Use patternmaking expertise to troubleshoot and resolve fit issues
  • Evaluate fit challenges and rebalance garments
  • Create initial tech packs using sample images and measurements
  • Understand yarns, gauges, stitches, and garment weights
  • Develop grading rules and proto tech packs for production
  • Assist with costing tech packs by updating gauges, stitch details, and other technical info
  • Collaborate effectively with Sales, Design, Art, and Production teams
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Stay self-motivated, proactive, organized, and team-oriented

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of hands-on Technical Design experience
  • Strong background in patternmaking and garment construction
  • Experience communicating with overseas vendors and U.S. clients
  • Familiarity with apparel tech packs, fittings, and grading standards
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
