PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - APPAREL (JK SEEDUWA)

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the product development department and sample room, guiding junior product developers with formal guidelines and technical expertise.
  • Obtain customer development requirements from the merchandising team and provide optimal solutions to secure orders by submitting accurate and production feasible costs.
  • Negotiation of garment constructions by suggesting new methodology or techniques through merchandising department.
  • Approve prototype samples for style details and construction, while monitoring the daily progress of sample development, including production, design, and technical aspects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in design, development, production, merchandising, and marketing to share product knowledge, ensure smooth bulk production launches, and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee developing new styles independently and coordinate marker arrangements for production.
  • Establish and maintain an efficiency monitoring system in the department, ensuring timely delivery of samples to customers.

Ideal candidate should possess

  • A degree or diploma in textiles or a relevant professional qualification.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in product development within the apparel industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of advancements in product development, sewing techniques, bonding, fabrics, embellishments, styles, samples, fit, and construction, with an understanding of appropriate quality and brand standards.
  • Preferably under the age of 50.
