ASSISTANT MANAGER - ACTUARIAL

Fairfirst invites you to be a part of our dynamic team as an Assistant Manager - Actuarial, where you'll play a key role in strengthening actuarial functions within a fast-paced general insurance environment.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Actuarial Specialist: You support core actuarial areas such as pricing, reserving, and solvency, ensuring decisions are backed by robust analysis.
  • IFRS 17 Champion: You contribute to financial reporting with a focus on compliance with IFRS 17.
  • Strategic Insight Provider: You analyze data and deliver actuarial insights that shape business strategy.
  • Collaborative Partner: You work closely with finance, underwriting, and other teams to align actuarial outputs with business goals.
  • Model & Tool Developer: You help develop and maintain actuarial models, tools, and dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Team Mentor: You foster knowledge-sharing and support the growth of fellow team members through guidance and integrity.

WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT:

  • Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented and problem-solving mindset.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with knowledge of statistical software such as Excel VBA, R, or Python.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • A strong understanding of insurance financial dynamics is an added advantage.

WHAT DO YOU NEED:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • At least two years’ experience in a recognized actuarial institution.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in an actuarial role, preferably within general insurance.
