ASSISTANT MANAGER – CREDIT RISK MANAGEMENT

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently assess and clear large, complex credit proposals by evaluating borrower financials, business viability, and creditworthiness, ensuring alignment with risk policies and appetite while acting as an objective risk partner to support sound credit decisions.
  • Assisting the development, validation, and enhancement of credit risk models and scoring systems to ensure regulatory compliance, accurate risk classification, portfolio segmentation, and data-driven credit decisions, while overseeing timely model recalibrations and improvements.
  • Providing assistance for the timely preparation of Management Information using thematic reviews and liaising with the relevant stakeholders to mitigate their identified risks and avoid repetition.
  • Oversee ongoing credit portfolio monitoring through early warning systems, trend analysis, and risk concentration tracking to ensure early detection of stress, balanced exposure, and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Conduct regular stress testing to assess portfolio resilience under adverse scenarios, estimating credit loss exposure and capital needs, and providing actionable recommendations to strengthen credit buffers and align lending strategies with potential stress outcomes.
  • Assist the Head of Credit Risk Management to conduct comprehensive training program to improve awareness and knowledge with regard to Credit Risk management.
  • Assist the CRO or any other officer designated by him, in delivering assigned tasks.
  • Coordinate & maintain good working relationships with the relevant internal Departments and external parties.
  • Provide support for the daily operations and overall functions of the Risk Department.

Qualifications

  • A degree from recognized University in the field of Management, Banking & Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, and Economics.
  • Full / Part qualification in Banking and Finance Conducted by IBSL or a Diploma in Credit Management or Risk Management is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 05 years of work experience in Banks / Financial Institutions in Credit / Credit Risk Management / Internal Audit.
  • Good Operational knowledge on Credit and Regulatory requirements related to Credit.
  • Good command in English and report writing skills.
