LEGAL EXECUTIVE (Trademarks)
Location: Colombo 02
As the Legal Executive – Trademarks, you are responsible for management of local and international Trade Mark licensed under group and take action against any trade mark infringement. Also, you are required to independently draft and review operating contracts and agreements, assess exposures to different regulations and advice the management of legal risks and exposures. You will be joining a team of experienced professionals in the fields of AGRI Business / FMCG and will pay your way for a mutually beneficial career within the Group.
This position is based in our Head Office situated at Colombo 02.
Key job functions:
- Register and attend to all matters relating to the Trade Marks within the Group.
- Draft and administer commercial legal contracts while ensuring compliance with laws of the relevant jurisdictions.
- Draft and review operating contracts and agreements, assess exposures to different regulations and advice the management of legal risks and exposures.
- Liaise with counsel, attend consultation and courts in respect of any litigation.
- Maintain various statutory registers and participate group compliance meetings.
- Prepare distributor agreements in the standardized format.
The ideal candidate should have the following prerequisites:
- Attorney-at-Law.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant post qualifying experience.
- Experience in Trade Mark related work.
- An excellent command of both written and spoken English.
- High level of interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Prepared to work beyond normal working hours to complete deadlines.
