which has many international reputed brands under its name, has the following vacancy:
Financial Accountant/ Management Accountant
The Ideal Candidate should be a dynamic, self-motivated team player with proven leadership qualities who can achieve deadlines under pressure. You will be reporting directly to the Group Chief Finance Officer.
Job Responsibilities:
- Preparing periodic financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries
- Reviewing and analyzing monthly financial statements and performance
- Communicating monthly results, opportunities and suggestions to management and business units
- Perform sales audit reconciliations and trends
- Providing support service by working with all departments and the management team in making financial decisions
- Ensuring spending is kept in line with the budget
- Informing key strategic decisions and formulating business strategies
- Advising on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions
- Analyzing financial performance and contributing to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts
- Negotiating on major projects, loans and grants
- Offering professional judgement on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance
- Interpreting and clearly communicating financial data to non-financial managers
- Liaising with other functional managers to put the finances and accounts in context
- Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed
- Implementing corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Financial Accountancy in recognized University with minimum two (02) years experience in similar capacity or
- Full qualification in CA/CIMA/ACCA with minimum two (02) years experience in similar capacity in a manufacturing environment, OR
- Part qualification in CA/CIMA/ACCA with minimum five (05) years experience in similar capacity in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge in current taxation and accounting standards
- Fluent in English
- Ability to work independently in a computerized accounting system is compulsory
- Age less than 45 years old, young and dynamic, living within 30 km of Katunayake
- A flexible team player
