Audit Senior Role

Join our team as an Audit Senior, where you'll take the lead in supervising and completing audit assignments. This role provides the opportunity to manage audits, liaise directly with clients, and contribute to the success of our firm by ensuring high-quality and efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Audit Execution:

    • Conduct audits per the Audit Manual, applying financial statement assertions, risk models, materiality, and audit planning.
    • Stay updated on changes in audit procedures and complete/review all sections of the audit file.
  2. Planning & Programming:

    • Identify risks and develop appropriate audit strategies.
    • Plan assignments, manage team schedules, set budgets, and liaise with clients to address any updates.
  3. Supervision & Control:

    • Allocate tasks, train team members, and monitor progress against deadlines and budgets.
    • Provide regular updates to managers or partners and ensure adherence to firm standards.
  4. Completion:

    • Review work papers, consolidate findings, finalize audit files, and address manager/partner feedback.
    • Conduct clients exit meetings, provide feedback to staff, and manage billing processes.
  5. Client Relations:

    • Build client trust through professional communication and business understanding.
    • Identify opportunities for value addition and address client concerns promptly.
  6. Technical Skills:

    • Apply knowledge of Australian reporting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
    • Keep updated with changes in legislation and reporting standards.
  7. Report Writing:

    • Deliver clear, actionable management letters and business reports while adhering to legal and professional guidelines.
  8. Marketing & Promotion:

    • Promote the firm’s services and maintain awareness of offerings and marketing resources.
  9. Technology Proficiency:

    • Utilize software like Word, Excel, CaseWare, and Solution 6 efficiently.
  10. General Expectations:

    • Adhere to firm policies, maintain accurate timesheets, and actively participate in training and meetings.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Daily timesheet completion and meeting productivity targets.
  • Timely preparation and clearance of audit plans and file queries.
  • Ensuring audit reports and governance letters are delivered on schedule.
  • Managing budget adherence and minimizing write-offs.

This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent client relationship management to ensure successful audit execution and business growth.

About You

You'll be a self-starter proactively managing all aspects of the Audit. You're a problem solver who enjoys a challenge and can comfortably communicate at all levels. You'll build authentic connections with clients, Managers, and Partners to manage workflow and team performance.

  • CA/ACCA/CIMA/CMA with or without degree in Accounting, Business or Commerce.
  • 3-5+ years' experience in Audit Experience with experience in a leadership or mentoring role.
  • Strong communication skills; Fluent in English – Must speak and write at a business level.
  • Strong attention to detail; Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Working knowledge and application of Corporations Act, Accounting and Auditing Standards and other applicable legislation.
