JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

Location: Male', MALDIVES

Basic Salary:

USD 750

Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Preparation of month-end accounts closing and review processes to ensure accuracy of P&L and Balance Sheet, and adherence to all group reporting deadlines.
  2. Support Management Reporting processes including analysis and management information reports.
  3. Perform accounting transactions in the general ledger and sub ledgers, including collecting, recording and verifying financial data.
  4. Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany recharges.
  5. Prepare and review statutory reporting.
  6. Preparation of tax returns
    • Estimate and track tax returns
    • Complete quarterly and annual tax reports
    • Organize and update the company’s tax database
    • Recommend tax strategies that align with business goals
    • Prepare necessary paperwork for tax payments and returns
  7. Adherence to internal controls as per group policies and financial control framework.
  8. Effective interaction with business stakeholders.
  9. Work collaboratively in identification and support of continuous improvement activities.
  10. Ad hoc projects as required.

Requirements:

  1. A degree in Finance.
  2. Minimum of 3 years accounting experience.
  3. Strong track record in
    • Processing core accounting transactions and consolidation to ensure balances are correctly reflected in the general ledger.
    • Financial control process including account reconciliations and substantiations.
    • Analysis, productions, and delivery of reporting packs / schedules to represent financial performance.
  4. Hands on experience in an ERP system, SAP would be preferred.
  5. Hands on experience in preparation of tax returns.
  6. Excellent knowledge of Excel.
  7. Ability to get along well, collaborate across finance team.
  8. Adaptable to change to meet business priorities and deadlines.
  9. Excellent communication skills in oral and written English.
  10. Strong process orientation, with ability to design robust reporting frameworks.
  11. Ability to build strong working relationships, with global colleagues and be multicultural.
