Fabric Technologist
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Fabric Technologist to join our team in the apparel industry. The ideal candidate will play a key role in fabric development, quality assurance, and ensuring production standards are met throughout the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and approve fabrics for production in terms of quality, performance, and compliance with customer requirements.
- Coordinate with fabric suppliers to source new fabrics and innovations as per seasonal needs.
- Conduct lab dips, shade band approvals, and performance testing.
- Monitor fabric test reports (e.g. shrinkage, colorfastness, GSM, pilling, etc.) and ensure adherence to buyer specifications.
- Resolve any fabric-related issues during development and bulk production stages.
- Maintain updated technical documentation and fabric library.
- Work closely with merchandising, production, and quality assurance teams to support on-time delivery.
- Participate in technical meetings with buyers and fabric mills when required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree/Diploma in Textile Technology or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a similar role within the apparel/textile industry.
- Strong knowledge of woven, knit, and synthetic fabric types and their performance attributes.
- Familiarity with international testing standards (ISO, AATCC, ASTM, etc.)
- Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
