We are preparing to launch our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the Export Processing Zone - Wathupitiwala, Sri Lanka, in October 2025. QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER/ EXECUTIVE
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineer/ Executive to join our startup team in establishing and maintaining world-class quality standards in our new automotive seat belt manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in developing quality systems, ensuring product compliance, and supporting production processes in accordance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and OEM customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to design, document and implement the quality management system of the company fully compliant to the ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements, and able to obtain ISO 9001 certification within 3 months after commencing the operations.
- Develop inspection standards, procedures, and control plans tailored to seat belt components in accordance with the applicable regulations such as ECE R16, FMVSS etc.
- Conduct inward, in-process and final inspections.
- Conduct root cause analysis and leads to corrective/preventive actions for internal quality issues and customer complaints.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Train production and inspection staff on quality standards, procedures, and tools.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Core Qualifications & Requirements:
- B Sc Engineering or Science Degree + 5 years’ experience in a quality assurance role, or QMS Diploma + 10 years’ experience in a quality assurance role.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Prior experience in IATF 16949 or AS9100 Quality Management System is highly valued.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Hands-on experience with FMEA, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA etc.
- Experience with Infor SyteLine ERP system is an added advantage.
