Chief Manager / Head of Investment Banking
JOB PROFILE
Capital Markets (Investment Banking Origination & Execution)
- Lead the structuring and execution of capital raising transactions across debt and equity markets.
- Originate new mandates from corporate and institutional clients, while deepening existing client relationships.
- Oversee the transaction lifecycle from origination to closing, including due diligence, investor engagement, documentation, and compliance.
- Drive innovation in capital raising structures suited to evolving market needs.
- Maintain a strong understanding of regulatory, macroeconomic, and market dynamics to position the bank competitively.
Margin Lending Business
- Oversee the strategy and operations of the bank's margin lending business (lending against listed securities).
- Identify opportunities to grow the lending base and grow the portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with;
- Regulations applicable to Margin Lending.
- Lending guidelines of the bank.
- Risk frameworks of the bank.
- Monitor the performance of the margin lending portfolio: Profitability, credit risks etc.
Proprietary Equity Investments
- Manage the bank’s proprietary equity investment portfolio with a clear focus on capital appreciation and risk-adjusted returns.
- Monitor and guide all portfolio decisions – Asset allocation, portfolio structure and trading decisions.
- Ensure portfolio governance, reporting, and performance tracking are rigorous and aligned with internal policies.
Leadership & Governance Responsibilities
- Set and deliver on annual business targets across all three verticals.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team across capital markets, lending, and investment functions.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Engage with senior management, board committees, and external stakeholders to report performance and strategic direction.
- Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and ethical conduct across the division.
APPLICANT'S PROFILE
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or any related field.
- 10-15+ years of experience across investment banking, capital markets, structured lending, or asset management.
- Proven track record in leading and building teams.
- Strategic mindset with ability to balance growth, risk, and operational execution.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and team leadership capabilities.
