The Centre for Poverty Analysis (CEPA) is a dynamic and independent Think Tank providing professional services on poverty-related development issues. CEPA is registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee under the Companies Act of Sri Lanka. CEPA’s thematic areas include Basic Services and Social Protection, Natural Resources, Climate and Poverty, Livelihood, Employment and Labour Migration, Social Cohesion and Reconciliation, and Gender and Development and Growth and Economics Transformation. CEPA works with a range of organizations, including government agencies, international financial institutions, multilateral agencies, as well as international and local NGOs.

We invite suitable candidates to apply for the post of Team Leaders for below Thematic areas.

Team Leader

Basic Services & Social Protection

Primarily to provide intellectual inputs to develop research concepts and projects related to Basic Services & Social Protection Thematic. Advanced academic background in Economics, Agriculture Economics, Development studies is desirable.

Team Leader

Growth and Economics Transformation

Primarily to provide intellectual inputs to develop research concepts and projects related to Growth and Economics Transformation Thematic. We welcome applicants with higher studies in Economics or Development Studies.

Role Overview

  • Manage projects: designing, planning, budgeting, and implementation
  • Fundraise by developing proposals, working plans, and budgets
  • Initiation/participation in research programs and advisory services
  • Managing client relationships and research teams
  • Communicate CEPA research findings in print media, blog articles, and social media
  • Mentor and motivate staff members and be actively involved in policy advocacy and client outreach

Desired Background

  • Research & field experience of more than 10 years.
  • Relevant Publications.
  • Team and Project Management Experience.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English and either Sinhala or Tamil (Trilingual skills will be an added advantage).
  • Link and network with local and international organizations for partnerships and collaborations.
  • Energetic, creative, innovative, and passionate about growth and economics transformation.

The candidate should be willing to travel for fieldwork within the country and internationally when the need arises.
