Company Profile
The Bansei Group of Companies, with its headquarters in Japan, has established a local company to oversee its operations in Sri Lanka, including hotels and investment portfolios, with plans for future expansion. The local office is located at the World Trade Center, Colombo 01, to manage and administer business operations in Sri Lanka.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal support to ensure Bansei Holdings and its subsidiaries remain compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Deliver sound legal advice to effectively manage regulatory compliance across the entire Bansei Group of companies.
- Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of legal documents, including contracts, bonds, deeds of transfer, agreements, policies, and court pleadings.
- Manage and coordinate litigation matters in collaboration with external legal counsel.
- Monitor and oversee adherence to regulatory compliance requirements.
- Represent the Bansei Group in courts, labour tribunals, police proceedings, and regulatory inquiries.
Required Qualifications
- Attorney-at-Law, Commissioner for Oaths, and Notary Public with a valid license to practice in Sri Lanka.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in legal practice or corporate advisory.
- Proven ability to represent the Bansei Group in legal and regulatory proceedings.
- Mandatory experience in litigation, contract drafting, and regulatory compliance.
- Willingness and ability to travel to outstation locations, including district courts and construction sites.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate, banking, financial, and regulatory legal frameworks.
- Proficient in drafting legal documents in both Sinhalese and English.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Preferred age range: 30 to 45 years.
