The Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka (FPA Sri Lanka), the pioneer in family planning and reproductive health services and education is an accredited member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) in the United Kingdom.

Counsellor – Wellbeing Centre

FPA Sri Lanka invites applications from qualified and empathetic professionals for the position of Counsellor at the newly established Wellbeing Centre in Katunayake EPZ. The Centre is designed to provide comprehensive wellbeing services to factory employees and their families, including support for mental health, sexual and reproductive health (SRH), and gender-based violence (GBV).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions to workers and their family members
  • Support awareness and outreach sessions on SRHR, GBV, and mental wellbeing
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure ethical practices in service provision
  • Keep accurate records and provide periodic reports on counselling activities
  • Be available for afternoon and late-hour shifts, based on the Centre’s schedule and client needs

Job Specifications

  • Contract period: 1 year (Fixed-Term)
  • Work Schedule: 2 Morning Shifts (8 a.m. – 1 p.m.) and 2 Afternoon Shifts (1 p.m. - 7 p.m.) (exact days to be assigned)
  • Education: A degree or diploma in counselling, psychology, or mental health
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in providing counselling or psychosocial support
  • Previous experience working with factory-based interventions or in the EPZ sector is an advantage
  • Language competency: Fluency in Sinhala and/or Tamil; working knowledge of English is an advantage
  • IT Competency: MS Office package
