The Continental plant in Kalutara, Sri Lanka, is a leading producer of industrial solid tires for forklifts and other material handling vehicles.
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our dynamic team as Head of Purchasing at our Kalutara facility.
Your tasks
- Supervise operational purchasing activities, including PO issuance in SAP, report analysis, and coordination with corporate purchasing teams.
- Manage procurement operations, ensuring timely ordering and delivery of machinery and equipment for plant needs.
- Implement and enforce corporate purchasing policies, maintaining full compliance with company standards and procedures.
- Act as SAP MM Local Key User, leading system support, user training, documentation, and coordination with Central Key User for process implementation.
- Control budget and financial processes, supporting annual budget preparation, verifying purchase requests, and approving payments within authority limits.
- Oversee reporting, compliance, and materials introduction, including customs/tax exemption applications and coordination of raw material release and documentation.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
- Prior experience in the rubber industry is highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage.
- Demonstrated expertise in cross-functional team leadership, operational problem-solving, process documentation, and performance reporting.
