SENIOR EXECUTIVE

ENGINEER – MOLD DEVELOPMENT & MAINTENANCE

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Engineer – Mold Development & Maintenance to oversee the full lifecycle of injection and blow molds at our Welisara facility. This role is critical in ensuring high-performing, reliable tooling systems that support our commitment to quality and manufacturing excellence. The ideal candidate will lead mold development initiatives, drive continuous improvements, and ensure optimal toolroom operations through strategic planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead troubleshooting and maintenance of injection and blow molds to maximize uptime and extend tool life.
  • Drive performance improvements through design enhancements and optimal material selection.
  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for molds and associated tooling.
  • Develop, review, and modify 2D/3D CAD designs and related technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with R&D, production, quality, and suppliers for new mold procurement, FAT, MPT, and validation processes.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to improve mold reliability.
  • Maintain comprehensive mold history records, maintenance logs, and performance KPIs.
  • Manage critical spares and optimize inventory to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Support vendor development, procurement specifications, and technical evaluations.
  • Ensure mold-to-machine compatibility through close coordination with design and operations teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in mold maintenance, tooling design, or plastic part production.
  • Expertise 2D/3D CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Strong knowledge of toolroom operations including machining, CNC, EDM, and polishing techniques.
  • Proven experience with preventive maintenance, RCA, and mold performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with injection and blow molding machines and mold-machine fitment considerations.
  • Working knowledge of ISO standards and quality systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
  • Experience with pen molds or high-precision multi-cavity molds will be a distinct advantage.
