SENIOR MANAGER LEGAL

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, negotiate, and review contracts, legal documents, agreements, MOUs, and other related documents.
  • Represent CA Sri Lanka in legal proceedings, prepare necessary information for all legal matters, provide updates to the Secretary/CEO and the Council regarding legal issues, and liaise with external counsel as required.
  • Provide legal guidance on a wide range of matters, including contracts, regulatory compliance, litigation, employment law, intellectual property, and corporate governance.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate legal risks, recommending effective strategies to manage them.
  • Act as legal counsel at the Labour Tribunal and in court, representing CA Sri Lanka.
  • Assist the Secretary/CEO in organizing and conducting meetings, accurately recording minutes, and ensuring their timely and efficient documentation.
  • Develop and implement legal procedures and policies to ensure CA Sri Lanka’s compliance with applicable laws.
  • Oversee the operations of the legal division.
  • Sign correspondence on behalf of CA Sri Lanka as directed by the Secretary/CEO.
  • Serve as the designated officer under the RTI Act.
  • Provide training and support on legal issues to staff as required, fostering a culture of legal awareness.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Secretary/CEO and the Council.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Over 5 years of experience as a legal officer in a corporate environment. Experience in company secretarial work will be an advantage.
  • An LLB from a recognised university and qualified as an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka with a Notary licence.
  • Proven ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong professional orientation and work ethic.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant IT applications.
