POSITION DETAILS
- POSITION TITLE: Product Technologist – Sleep & Lounge Activewear
- LOCATION: PD Facility Mawathagama

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Development Ownership
- Drive the sleepwear and activewear development process from concept to fit approval for all Q Collection development / customer tech packs.
- Ensure product aligns with design intent, sleepwear and activewear fit standards, and technical feasibility.
- Maintain full ownership of assigned styles including pattern fit, construction, and BOM accuracy.
Pattern Engineering & Fit Construction
- Develop and adjust accurate sleepwear and activewear patterns that meet aesthetic and functional expectations.
- Conduct internal fit sessions, identify issues, and apply fit corrections independently.
- Ensure consistent fit and construction integrity across all size sets.
Sample Management & Critical Path
- Manage own development critical path, ensuring timely development of prototypes, fit samples, and pre-production samples.
- Coordinate with the in-house sample room to execute sample development aligned with technical requirements and deadlines.
- Ensure timely follow-up on all sample comments and updates throughout the development cycle.
Tech Pack Finalization
- Prepare, update, and maintain complete and accurate development tech packs (including graded specs, construction details, label placements, fit notes, etc.).
- Ensure smooth transition and handover of finalized tech packs to the manufacturing facility with all risk points addressed.
Customer Collaboration & Risk Assessment
- Represent the technical function during customer fit meetings and style reviews.
- Participate in risk assessment and handover meetings, proactively identifying and solving potential technical challenges.
- Ensure all customer comments and feedback are effectively translated into technical actions and incorporated into final developments.
Cross-functional Communication
- Collaborate closely with design, merchandising, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to align on product goals and timelines.
- Act as the technical contact point for both internal and external stakeholders during the development process.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Diploma or Degree in Garment Technology, Fashion Design, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience specifically in sleepwear and activewear/sleep & lounge / activewear product development or garment technology.
- Strong background in pattern making, fit analysis, and technical construction of sleepwear and activewear.
- Experience with international sleep & lounge / activewear sleepwear and activewears (e.g., M&S, PVH, H&M, Nike, Lululemon, M&S, or PINK) is a plus.
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of sleepwear and activewear garment construction, grading, and fit.
- Proficient in technical communication, fit assessments, and garment engineering.
- Ability to manage multiple styles and develop timelines efficiently.
- Competency in pattern software (Gerber, Lectra, or manual) preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and technical troubleshooting ability.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal), with clear communication skills.

KPI & Success Measures:
- On-time delivery of samples and finalized tech packs.
- First-fit approval ratio and reduced number of fit iterations.
- Timely handover to manufacturing with zero critical issues.
- Positive feedback from customer fit meetings and internal stakeholders.
- Compliance with internal development calendar and critical path targets.
